In the past month or so things haven’t exactly gone Matt Kuchar’s way. He finished 2 strokes back at the Texas Open. At the Houston Open, he found himself in a playoff, only to lose on a holed chip shot by Matt Jones. At the Masters last week, a four putt on the fourth hole was his undoing.
But this week at the RBC Heritage, something finally went Matt Kuchar’s way.
To start the day, Kuchar was four strokes back, but made up that difference as he made his way to the 17th hole. After a three putt from five feet, it looked like more of the same was in store for Kuchar.
But in a shocking turn of events, Kuchar holed a bunker shot to take a one-stroke lead.
That lead proved to be enough to hold off Luke Donald.
As you know, Matt Kuchar is a favorite of Tap In Golf, based solely on the fact that he is sponsored by Grey Goose. But he is also a great player and it is good to see him catch a break for a change.
Wear that terrible looking jacket with pride Kuch!
